Ukraine can launch the French long-range missiles into Russian territory "in the logics of self-defense," French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told BBC in an interview on Saturday, but did not confirm whether those missiles had been used already.
"We will support Ukraine as intensely and as long as necessary. Why? Because it is our security that is at stake. Each time the Russian army progresses by one square kilometer, the threat gets one square kilometer closer to Europe," Barrot said, not discarding the option of French troops being involved in combat.
Barrot also stated that France is "open" to inviting Ukraine to join NATO and that Western countries must spend more on defense. He noted that there should not be any "red lines" regarding support for Ukraine.
