France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, after beating Croatia, the smallest country that made it to the final since Uruguay won Brazil in 1950. The score in the last game of the historic soccer tournament in Russia was 4:2.
France became the world champion for the second time. The match, played in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium, was attended President of Russia Vladimir Putin and heads of state of France and Croatia – Emmanuel Macron and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
Croatia's Mario Mandzukic opened the series, but with an own goal, the first ever in World Cup finals, after which he also scored a regular point, while the other one was kicked into France's net by Ivan Perisic. The other side's goalscorers were Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe (pictured).
