France's industrial production decreased 0.4% in December compared to the previous month, the country's statistical office INSEE said on Wednesday.
Manufacturing output was 0.7% down month on month, while construction output increased by 1.3% compared to November. The monthly slump in manufacturing was mostly attributed to a decline in the production of transport equipment, which was down 5.4%.
On an annual basis, the whole industrial output fell 1.2% in December, while manufacturing output dropped 1.9% and automotive industry output slid 16.5%.
