General Motors is planning to export the Chevrolet Silverado and the Chevrolet Colorado to China, starting in 2017, Automotive News reported on Monday.

Both pickup models will be produced in the United States, GM announced. They will be sold through parallel import.

Ford Motor Co. will also start exporting pickups to China next year where imports of cars and smaller trucks face a 25% tariff. Pickups were banned on pollution and congestion concerns until recently in the Asian country. Now, four provinces allowed them.
