GOP confirms Trump as election nominee

Former United States President Donald Trump became on Monday the Republican Party's official nominee in the 2024 election at the Republican National Convention (RNC).

The confirmation became official after Trump garnered enough delegates' votes as the party's state branches presented them one after another.

The news came shortly after Trump announced Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate in the campaign.
