The Republican Party voted Friday to drop United States Representative from Ohio Jim Jordan as a nominee for House Speaker.
The decision was made during a closed-door session to determine the support for Donald Trump's ally and after his failure for the third time to win the speakership. In the third ballot, Jordan fell short, garnering only 194 votes.
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise stated the House will resume on Monday. "Monday, we're going to come back and start over," Scalise said, as quoted by CNN.
