The United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee led by Republicans subpoenaed the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over documents related to the investigation into Twitter Inc.'s handling of privacy, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing relevant written correspondence.
The subpoena is said to have been served to FTC Chair Lina Khan, following the commission's failure to cooperate with previous requests for information.
As per the report, the documents in question were sought on March 10, where the committee chair Jim Jordan alleged that the FTC made "inappropriate and burdensome" demands from Twitter and its billionaire owner Elon Musk.
