Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze ruled out the possibility of restoring diplomatic ties with Russia, citing Moscow's recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states.

In an interview with Euronews, he said Georgia follows a pragmatic approach in its relations with Russia but cannot ignore its territorial integrity. He emphasized that a peaceful resolution remains the only option.

However, Kobakhidze expressed optimism about restoring Georgia's strategic partnership with the United States, which he believes could happen under US President Donald Trump. He also reaffirmed Georgia's ambition to join the European Union by 2030 but urged Brussels to be more flexible in accession talks.
