German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock asserted that the reached agreement on the shipment of grain from the Ukrainian ports is a "great success," during her official visit to Turkey on Friday.
Speaking at a joint press conference with her Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Baerbock praised Ankara's efforts in the grain export negotiations, calling it "a beacon of hope for many people facing the threat of starvation." The Turkish foreign minister explained the country is positive that such an agreement could lead to a cessation of conflict between Russia and Ukraine, underscoring that Ankara will "continue to do our part."
Previously, the Joint Coordination Center (JCCC) was opened on Wednesday that is to secure grain shipments from Ukraine's Black Sea ports to the global market, as part of the corridor agreement signed by the representatives of Russia and Ukraine, under the auspices of the United Nations and Turkey.
