German court: Amazon infringed on Nokia's patent

EPA-EFE/JUSTIN LANE

The Duesseldorf Regional Court ruled on Friday that Amazon.com Inc. infringed on a patent held by Nokia Corp. The court decided Amazon will have to stop using the patent, which relates to streaming services.

"We welcome the decision and hope that Amazon will fulfill its obligation and agree to a license on fair terms," Nokia said in a statement to the German magazine Wirtschaftswoche. The Finnish tech company filed lawsuits against Amazon in 2023 in Germany, the United Kingdom and the European Union's Unified Patent Court.
