Inflation in Germany fell from 1.9% in August to 1.6% in September on an annual basis, Destatis said in a preliminary release on Monday. Month-on-month, inflation remained stable.

Annual core inflation, excluding food and energy, is estimated at 2.7%, compared to 2.8% in August. Annual services inflation decreased by 0.1 points from August to 3.8%, and goods saw a 0.3% drop in prices on a yearly basis.
