Saxon police have arrested three suspects that are allegedly connected to the explosive assassin plotter Jaber Albakr, Spiegel reported on Saturday. The three men have been arrested by the police at the Chemnitz main station in Germany.
“These people are currently being interrogated," said the police spokesman Tom Bernhard. The authorities are currently trying to find out whether the suspects have any useful information regarding the whereabouts of the Syrian plotter.
German police found several hundred grams of explosive material in Albakr’s residence earlier, which were disposed of in a secure explosion conducted by the authorities. However, the suspect was not present at the time of the police raid. The investigation is still ongoing.
