German authorities are set to close Russia's Channel One office in the country, citing security policy, the broadcaster announced on Wednesday. The outlet further mentioned that journalist Ivan Blagoy and cameraman Dmitry Volkov received instructions to leave Berlin at the beginning of December.

Channel One criticized the expulsion of its team, claiming it was a "punishment for truth and professionalism," asserting that their reporting on "real events" in Ukraine, probing the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, and examining the activities of Germany's leadership had created "powerful enemies."

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed out that her country will announce "retaliatory measures" today.
