Germany: Ukraine security deal worth €1.13 billion

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced on Friday that the security deal signed between his country and Ukraine is worth €1.13 billion.

"Our security agreement with Ukraine is historic. For the first time in its history, the Federal Republic of Germany is acting as a guarantor state," Pistorius said in a statement the ministry shared. He added the main objective of the deal is artillery and air defense.

The deal was signed earlier in the day by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin.
