Google's President of Global Affairs Kent Walker said on Tuesday that rules and regulations on artificial intelligence (AI) should promote innovation.

"It's time to seize the opportunity of #ArtificialIntelligence boldly and responsibly, not just minimizing risk, but maximizing opportunity in Europe," Walker stated in a speech at the European Bussiness Summit in Brussels. "I've worked in technology all of my life, but I’ve never seen a time so promising," he added.

Walker also announced that Google will allocate €5 million to provide grants to think tanks, civil society organizations and academic institutions contributing to solutions for the development of AI in Europe as part of its Digital Futures Project.
