United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will require some 25,000 of its health care staff and volunteers to get vaccinated against COVID-19, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra (pictured) announced on Thursday.
Inoculation will be mandatory for all who could potentially come into contact with patients "at an HHS medical or clinical research facility," Becerra's statement read.
In order to curb the spread of the coronavirus' Delta variant, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as the Department of Defense, previously made similar announcements.
