German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Thursday in a statement that the next government will face "similar difficulties" as the current one.

Habeck reassured the country's citizens that even after the collapse of the three-way coalition, the incumbent government would continue to act "with a full sense of duty." He further stressed that the ministerial office cannot simply "leave things lying around or switch over to election campaign mode straight away."

Yesterday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz dismissed Finance Minister Christian Lindner over policy disagreements. Meanwhile, earlier today, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier shared that he is prepared to dissolve that parliament if it were necessary.
