Hamas announced the death of senior political bureau member Ismail Barhoum, saying he was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis while receiving medical treatment.
The Palestinian group called the attack an "assassination" and condemned it as part of Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza. In a statement, Hamas accused Israel of violating international laws and targeting civilians and medical facilities.
The group described Barhoum as a "martyr" and a "mujahid," vowing to continue its fight.
