A senior Hamas official, Taher al-Nunu, told AFP on Monday that the militant group is willing to release all Israeli hostages in exchange for guarantees that Israel will end the war in Gaza and remove its forces from the area.
"We are ready to release all Israeli captives in exchange for a serious prisoner swap deal, an end to the war, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the entry of humanitarian aid," Al-Nunu told AFP, accusing Israel of obstructing the ceasefire efforts.
According to previous reports, Hamas left for Cairo on Saturday to take part in the negotiations about resuming the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal with Israel.
