An unnamed senior source from Hamas told Hezbollah-linked Al-Mayadeen news outlet that ceasefire and hostage negotiations between the militant group and Israel are failing because of Israel's demands.
According to the report, the latest meetings in Qatar ended without success, since Israel kept insisting on maintaining a presence on the Philadelphi corridor on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. On the other hand, Israel is rejecting to reveal identities of 65 Palestinian prisoners who should be released as part of the agreement, the source said.
"Negotiations are heading towards collapse due to Israel's refusal to respond to the mediators' proposals to address the current problems," the source stated.
