United States Vice President Kamala Harris will "play a central role" in the process of appointing the successor to Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, who confirmed he will retire later this year, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed on Thursday.
US President Joe Biden "respects her opinion" as she was an attorney general and was a member of the Senate's Judiciary Committee in the past, Psaki explained.
Biden vowed to work in good faith with lawmakers from both parties on the matter, the White House official underlined, adding that the Biden administration will "not play games."
