United States Vice President Kamala Harris promised that her tax policies would lower living costs for middle-class families.

"I will not raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000 a year, but we do need to take seriously the system that benefits the richest and does not help out working middle-class Americans," Harris said, highlighting that she also comes from the middle class. "And I believe that the middle class needs tax breaks to be able to actually not just get by, but get ahead," she stated.

"I'm saying that there is going to be a parity around what the richest people pay, in terms of their taxes," she added.
