Hezbollah's operations room issued a statement on Tuesday, stating Israel failed to enter border villages while taking "heavy losses" during its ongoing ground operation in southern Lebanon.
According to the militant organization, more than 35 Israeli soldiers, including those belonging to elite units, were killed in the fighting, while 200 were wounded. At the same time, Hezbollah threatened it would turn Haifa and "beyond Haifa into the equivalent of Kyrat Shmona" and Metula, the two settlements on the Israel-Lebanon border that have been subjected to daily shelling by its forces since the beginning of the conflict.
"We repeat what we said in the early days of this heroic battle: What this enemy is witnessing from our fighters is only some of the severe might that awaits them wherever their feet step in southern Lebanon," Hezbollah said.
