International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) informed its employees that it intends to cut jobs in the marketing and communications division, CNBC reported on Tuesday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
According to the report, Jonathan Adashek, IBM’s chief communications officer, announced the company's decision in a short meeting with employees, although he did not specify the number of jobs to be cut.
In August 2023, IBM said it was planning to replace approximately 8,000 jobs with artificial intelligence.
