Intel has paused construction of its new $25 billion factory in Kiryat Gat, Israel, as news website Calcalist reported on Monday.
The decision comes as Intel's suppliers received cancellation notices for equipment and material contracts essential for the plant's development. The Israeli Ministry of Finance was informed of the halt, which follows Intel's official factory announcement last December.
The planned factory was set to benefit from $3.2 billion in state incentives and commit to purchasing 60 billion shekels in products and services from Israeli suppliers over the next decade.
