Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for a "death sentence" for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Khamenei insisted that the arrest warrant issued last week by the International Criminal Court (ICC) is "not enough" and added that "Netanyahu's death sentence must be issued."
The ICC issued a warrant for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over their alleged responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. Israel and the United States rejected the warrant, while several other countries, including Italy, Canada and Turkey said it was binding and stressed they intend to respect it.
