Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian called Monday the EU sanctions on his country "an unconstructive act of miscalculation."
"Down a well-worn path of ineffective sanctions, the EU today adopted further superfluous sanctions on Iranian persons. It is an unconstructive act out of miscalculation, based on widespread disinformation. Riots and vandalism are not tolerated anywhere; Iran is no exception," said Amirabdollahian.
Previously, it was known that the European Union had imposed new sanctions against Iran over alleged human rights violations in the country amid the most recent demonstrations in that country.
