The Iranian Red Crescent announced on Monday that the search for bodies from the helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi has concluded, adding that the bodies are being transported to the Martyrs' Cemetery in Tabriz.
Despite dispatching rapid response teams, the difficult terrain and weather conditions delayed the search. "Efforts to find the crashed helicopter took hours," a Red Crescent spokesperson said. "We didn't stop searching in the dark, fog, and rain, and when we discovered the wreckage with our drone, we headed to the exact crash site."
Earlier, the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, 63, and Mr. Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, was confirmed.
