The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed on Friday that its Deputy Chief of the General Staff, MG Amir Baram, held talks with members of the United States military this week where they discussed the acceleration of munitions supply as well as the operational plans "for the southern and northern arenas."
From the US side, the IDF said senior commanders of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the US NORTHCON (Northern Command), the Navy, the joint chiefs of staff, and the defense departments were present. "Preparations in countering Iran and its proxies, and the common interests of the IDF and the US military in the Middle East" were discussed.
The meeting took place amid heightened tensions with Hezbollah and after the United States Embassy in Beirut advised its citizens to avoid presence in southern Lebanon and the Lebanon-Syria border. Also, the Israeli Air Force stated to be "ready to face Hezbollah."
