The Israeli government has not yet received a Gaza ceasefire proposal from Egypt, an Israeli official told the Times of Israel on Monday. According to earlier reports, the proposal would see Hamas releasing five hostages, while Israel would allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Hamas allegedly "responded positively" to the plan.
However, the Israeli official said Israel is still favoring the proposal made by the United States and rejected by Hamas, insisting Israel will "keep increasing the pressure until Hamas breaks" in the absence of an agreement.
