Israel's war cabinet is currently engaged in discussions to find alternative organizations to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) for the distribution of aid within the Gaza Strip. The aim is to ensure that humanitarian aid provided does not end up in the hands of Hamas, according to The Times of Israel's report on Monday, which cited an Israeli official.
"There are discussions with other humanitarian groups in Gaza," the source added. Furthermore, Israel intends for aid to reach the northern part of the Gaza Strip, as around 300 trucks carrying humanitarian assistance will arrive in Gaza today.
Israel has leveled accusations against UNRWA workers, claiming that they have ties to Hamas and were involved in the October 7 attacks on Israel. They have also alleged that some 1468 workers are active members of both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
