Israel responded to rocket fire from Lebanon on Saturday by targeting areas in southern Lebanon with artillery and air activity.
The move comes after Israeli forces intercepted three rockets launched from about four miles north of the border, marking the first cross-border incident since a US-brokered ceasefire took effect in November.
Israel's military confirmed the interceptions and said it took responsive action in line with security commitments to northern communities. Lebanon's state news agency reported that towns in the south were hit.
