Israel says Syrian mortar bombed as response

For the second time in a week, Israel Defense Forces said on Friday they attacked Syrian troops loyal to President Bashar al-Assad as a projectile landed in the occupied Golan Heights.

"Moments ago, an errant projectile from internal fighting in Syria hit an open area in the Northern Golan Heights. No injuries reported," the army said on Twitter and added Israeli Air Force (AIF) aircraft targeted the military position that fired the mortar.
