Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement posted on X on Tuesday that the information given by Hamas-run institutions about the number of casualties in the latest Khan Younis strike "does not align" with information the Israeli military has.
IDF further mentioned that its operation in the area targeted "a number of senior [Hamas] terrorists," among them being individuals who were directly involved in the October 7 "massacre."
The Israeli army also insisted that the strike was conducted after a "long period of intelligence gathering, as well as continuous aerial observation in the hours preceding the attack," which verified the Hamas commanders' presence in the area.
