Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar (pictured) said on Monday that he talked to French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot about the recent accusations by French diplomats that Israel is guilty of multiple violations of the ceasefire deal with Hezbollah. Saar said that he told Barrot that "Israel is not violating the ceasefire understandings but rather enforcing them in response to Hezbollah's violations."
"The presence of Hezbollah operatives south of the Litani is a fundamental violation of the agreement and they must move north," Saar said in a post on X, adding that his country is "committed to the successful implementation of the ceasefire understandings."
A French official reportedly stated yesterday that Israel had committed 52 ceasefire violations in the previous 24 hours, according to French diplomats. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) refuted these claims by saying that it was enforcing the deal by striking Hezbollah forces, which were violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
