Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Avichay Adraee revealed on Monday that the military is broadening the "humanitarian zone" in the southern part of Gaza. This area is where most Palestinian residents of the Strip are currently located.
"The expanded area will also feature tent complexes, medical supplies, food, water, and medicine, all coordinated between the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) and the international community," Adraee wrote on X.
This expansion coincides with IDF operations targeting Hamas in Jabalia and surrounding areas in northern Gaza. These military actions have resulted in the displacement of over 55,000 Palestinian civilians, as per Israeli media.
