Israeli tanks mistakenly opened fire at an office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday.
The incident took place earlier today in Rafah during a military operation when Israeli troops spotted suspects inside the building. "After an examination, it emerged that the identification was incorrect, and the building belongs to the Red Cross," the military added.
No casualties were reported although the Red Cross building was damaged. At the same time, the IDF said the incident is under investigation.
