The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated on Sunday that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) fighter jets struck a Hamas command and control center located in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
The IDF added that the command center was situated "at an active" United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) location. "The location served as a staging ground for multiple attacks on IDF troops and humanitarian aid distribution efforts as well as a weapons supply facility for Hamas terrorists," the IDF said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Israeli forces also claimed that Hamas intentionally positioned this command center in such a way so as to endanger Palestinian civilians taking shelter there.
