Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte’s cabinet confirmed on Monday that he will give his resignation to the Italian President Sergio Mattarella on Tuesday after being pressured by the members of his own coalition party.
Conte however hopes Mattarella will allow him to form a new government after he won the vote of confidence in the country's upper house, the Senate of the Republic.
However, last week his government lost its majority in the parliament after former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi withdrew his party from the ruling coalition.
