Japan's total merchandise trade deficit exceeded analysts' expectations in February, amounting to ¥668.3 billion, the country's Ministry of Finance revealed in its report on Wednesday.
The February merchandise trade deficit was down by ¥1,525.2 billion in comparison to the previous month's revised amount of ¥2,193.5 billion.
The country's exports for the time period landed below market estimates, increasing by 19.1% year-on-year, while imports rose 34.0% in comparison to February 2021, going above market estimates.
