European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will travel to Israel and Palestine on March 24, the European External Action Service revealed on Sunday.
Kallas is set to meet with Israel's President Isaac Herzog, Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Saar, and Israel's opposition leader Yair Lapid. In Palestine, the EU's high representative is expected to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa.
According to the media advisory, the aim of the visit and the meetings is to "discuss the conflict in Gaza, recall the importance of unimpeded access and sustained distribution of humanitarian assistance at scale into and throughout Gaza, and call for an immediate return to the full implementation of the ceasefire-hostage release agreement."
