Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna stated on Wednesday that Kiev will start the process of reviewing its legislation to ensure it aligns with current European Union laws.

Earlier, the European Commission greenlit the opening of official accession talks between the European Union and Ukraine with the goal of monitoring processes and compliance in all areas before reporting back to the European Council by March 2024.

According to the European Commission's assessment, the Ukrainian government made "substantial progress" on making changes to the seven key areas as outlined by the Commission last year, such as reform of judicial governance bodies and steps to "address the influence of oligarchs."
