United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said on Monday that US President Joe Biden will not meet Argentina's President-elect Javier Milei during the latter's visit to Washington, since Biden will be traveling at the time.
Kirby noted that talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank about Argentina's "economic issues" will be the main focus of Milei's trip to the US, but he added that the South American official will also hold talks with "some folks" from the NSC, including National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
Last week, Biden held a phone conversation with Milei, following his election victory.
