Kirby: Situation in Ukraine is dire

US National Security Council (NSC) Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby described the situation in Ukraine on Tuesday as "dire."

Kirby painted a bleak picture of the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces, noting they are "making tough decisions" amid shortages in ammunition and are starting to lose previously regained territories. Moreover, Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines are experiencing significant resource constraints, impacting their ability to hold off Russian advances.

According to Kirby, if Congress does not allocate funding, "in a month or two, it is very likely the Russians will achieve more territorial gains."
