Liverpool FC manager Juergen Klopp denied on Tuesday he would be succeeding Joachim Loew and taking over the top job with the German national football team.
"Am I available for the job of coach of the German national team in the summer? No," Klopp said. "I am pretty sure, with the amount of really good German managers at the moment, the German Football Association (DFB) will find a good solution."
Earlier in the day, the DFB confirmed Loew would resign as the German national team's manager after the 2021 European Championship. Loew, who took the job in 2006, led Die Elf to the gold medal at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, the silver medal at the UEFA Euro 2008, and the bronze medal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
