Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russia maintains regular contact with both Iranian and Israeli authorities and urged both parties to restrain from further tensions.
"We are extremely concerned about the escalation of tensions in the region and we call on all countries in the region to exercise restraint. Further escalation is in no one’s interests," Peskov stated in a press briefing.
Asked whether Tehran had informed Moscow about the exact timing of the attack on Israel, the spokesperson refused to comment.
