Russian Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday that the political scandal which rocked Austria over the weekend has "nothing to do" with Russia and, therefore, Moscow will not make any comments on the matter.

On Saturday, Austria's Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache resigned after a leaked video showed him talking to an alleged Russian investor, sparking allegations of corruption. In the meantime, Austrian prosecutors said they evaluated the video and found no evidence that Strache committed any crime, while Chancellor Sebastian Kurz asked President Alexander Van der Bellen to schedule a snap election in response to the scandal.
