Austria's Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache (pictured right) resigned on Saturday following a controversy regarding a leaked video, allegedly recorded in 2017.
"My offer to step down was accepted," he said after meeting Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (left). "I apologize to everyone I disappointed with my behavior," Strache added.
It remains unclear whether Strache will be replaced by Infrastructure Minister Norbert Hofer, as certain media reports suggested, or the country would prepare for snap elections.
