Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will definitely meet in person with his American counterpart Donald Trump at an "appropriate time."
"This meeting will take place. The presidents expressed their political will that it should take place, including doing so publicly," Peskov told Russian state television VGTRK's journalist Pavel Zarubin. "But it will take place at the appropriate time. We need to prepare for it," he pointed out.
Peskov added that Putin's meeting with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff on Friday "certainly" marked a step towards a Putin-Trump meeting.
