Truss accuses Sunak of highest taxes in 70 years

United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Liz Truss accused Former British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak of raising taxes to their highest levels in 70 years, during a debate on BBC on Monday.

"How on earth can you claim that's going to lead to economic growth and where have the growth policies been for the last two-and-a-half years," Truss told Sunak.

Truss underlined that she will not be raising taxes "at this vital time when we're trying to attract investment" into the country. On the other side, Sunak noted that Truss' £40 billion "irresponsible" tax cuts plan would be detrimental to the country.
